<p>Assisi Hospice runs a regular volunteer programme supporting palliative care for patients and their families. Volunteers serve as Van Escorts, Volunteer Carers, Volunteers with Special Skills, or NODA (No One Dies Alone) volunteers, contributing across Day Care, Inpatient Ward, and Home Care services.</p><ul><li>Minimum age 17 for most roles; NODA volunteers must be 30+ and have prior Volunteer Carer experience.</li><li>Service commitment: minimum 48 hours per year (about 4 hours per month).</li><li>Duties include patient befriending, meal-time support, diaper-changing, bed-sponging, and escorting patients between home and Day Care.</li><li>COVID-19 immunisation and background screening are mandatory for all new volunteers.</li><li>Training: orientation e-module plus volunteer onboarding (Volunteer Carer training spans 1.5 days).</li><li>Student volunteers completing 48 hours per year may receive a testimonial or letter of service.</li></ul><p>Interested individuals can register their interest through the Assisi Hospice volunteer application portal.</p>
