<p>The John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize 2026 invites students worldwide to write a single essay of up to 2,000 words on one question from the Economics category. Entries are judged on knowledge, use of evidence, argumentation, originality, structure, and style.</p><ul><li>Economics prompts for 2026 include questions on a cashless society, personalized pricing, and Amazon's wealth creation.</li><li>Eligibility: students under 19 on 31 May 2026; Junior track for under-15s and Senior track for ages 15 to 18.</li><li>Registration opens 2 February 2026 and closes 31 March 2026; submissions accepted 1 April to 31 May 2026. Late entries allowed for a fee.</li><li>First place in each category: US$5,000 scholarship toward a John Locke Institute programme. Grand Prize: US$10,000 scholarship plus a Junior Fellowship.</li><li>Shortlist announced 7 July 2026; academic conference and awards ceremony in London, 2 to 4 October 2026.</li></ul><p>Register and submit through the John Locke Institute website. Regular submission is free; late extensions are £25 for seven days or £75 for twenty-one days.</p>
