About this opportunity
A peer-reviewed journal for pre-university scientists. A student submits original research in the biological or physical sciences with an adult mentor, then works through genuine reviewer reports from PhD scientists over several rounds of revision until the paper is publishable - real scientific publishing at 16-19, not a showcase site.
Who can apply
Middle and high school students aged 13 or older, in any country including Singapore, who make their first submission before enrolling in university; JEI explicitly takes submissions from outside the US. Every manuscript needs an adult mentor (teacher, professor, postdoc or senior graduate student) who submits on the student's behalf, and only one submission at a time.
