<p>The Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science is a national award presented annually by the Ministry of Education since 1992 to recognise students who demonstrate academic excellence and passion for mathematics and science. It is awarded across three sections: secondary school, pre-university, and polytechnic.</p><ul><li>Recipients are identified through school nomination based on academic excellence and contribution to mathematics and science – there is no direct application from students.</li><li>In 2026, 52 students received the award: 18 from the secondary school section, 14 from the pre-university section and 20 from the polytechnic section.</li><li>For polytechnic recipients, the award is given to the top Technology or Computer Science graduates from each polytechnic.</li><li>The award is funded through interest proceeds from the Lee Kuan Yew Donation account within the Education Fund.</li><li>Winners are honoured at the MOE Special Awards Presentation Ceremony and their names published on the honour roll.</li></ul><p>Interested students should engage their school's mathematics or science department heads – schools manage all nominations for this award.</p>
