About this opportunity

<p>The SGLaw200 "Why Law Matters" student competitions, organised by the Ministry of Law, commemorate 200 years of Singapore's modern judicial and legal system. Students are invited to share their appreciation and understanding of the Rule of Law and its impact on daily life — no prior legal knowledge is required.</p><ul><li>Open to Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident students</li><li>Three categories: Upper Primary (P4–6), Secondary (Sec 1–5), and Pre-University (ITE, JC, Polytechnic)</li><li>Prizes of up to S$250 for individual entries in the Upper Primary and Secondary categories</li><li>Prizes of up to S$1,000 for group entries in the Pre-University category</li><li>Entries are judged on content and creativity</li><li>Submission deadline: 30 June 2026</li></ul><p>Students submit entries via the category-specific links on the Ministry of Law's page (Pre-University: go.gov.sg/whylawmatterspreu).</p>
