About this opportunity
Teams of at least five students design a particle physics experiment and submit a written proposal and short video. Winning teams fly to CERN, DESY or ELSA with all costs paid and spend around two weeks actually running their own experiment on a real particle beamline, supported by working physicists.
Who can apply
Students in high school, or in the gap between secondary school and university, anywhere in the world - no national quota, so Singapore teams apply directly. Minimum 5 students plus at least one adult coach; up to 9 students and 2 coaches travel if the team wins, and travellers must be 16 or older.
How to apply
Form a team with an adult coach (at least five students to be eligible for the trip), read the proposal guidelines, then submit a written proposal in English through the BL4S submission form; a video is encouraged but optional. Runs every year: proposals for 2026 were accepted from January to 13 March 2026, and the 2027 edition will be announced soon; teams can pre-register on the BL4S site for updates.
