<p>The Singapore Math Challenge (SMC) is SIMCC's national open-entry mathematics competition, taken as a 90-minute paper of 15 multiple-choice and 16 non-routine questions (calculators allowed from Primary 5 upwards). It serves as a qualifying gateway into the Singapore Math Global Finals (SMGF), and top medallists may be considered for SIMCC's Talent Development &amp; Scholarship Programme.</p><ul><li>Eligibility: check current SIMCC rules; recent editions have covered lower and upper secondary candidates (JC eligibility varies by year)</li><li>Content ranges from curriculum-aligned numeracy to olympiad-style number theory and combinatorics</li><li>Format: hybrid – schools run online or paper sittings between 24 August and 25 September 2026; Singapore private candidates sit a paper-based contest on 3 or 4 October 2026</li><li>Scoring is on a raw-score basis with no penalty for incorrect answers</li><li>Medal awardees receive certificates and possible invitations to the Singapore Math Global Finals</li></ul><p>Students register through their school or directly via SIMCC when private candidate registration is open.</p>
