<p>The national selection pipeline for Singapore's team to the World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC), the annual English-language international schools debate competition for debaters aged 14 to 19. The team is chosen and trained by the Ministry of Education, Singapore, drawing from top performers in inter-school debate.</p><ul><li>Selection is run by MOE, primarily through the MOE Invitational Debating Championship (MIDC, formerly the Junior Colleges Debating Championships) and subsequent training camps</li><li>Open to Singapore secondary and JC debaters who qualify via their school's participation in the national debating circuit</li><li>2026 WSDC will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 14–24 July 2026 at United States International University — the first WSDC in Africa</li><li>Singapore has reached podium positions on multiple occasions, winning the championship in 2011 and placing in the top three in several other years</li><li>Selected debaters commit to several months of training ahead of the championship</li></ul><p>Interested students should ask their school's debate society about MIDC entry and MOE's national team pathway.</p>
