About this opportunity
Write a 750 to 1,000 word essay answering one of two set questions about the Romantic poets and the sea, discussing at least two poems by Keats, Shelley or Byron. The winner receives GBP 700 and two highly commended entrants receive GBP 300 each, and winning essays are published on the Keats-Shelley website. A good fit for students who enjoy Literature and close reading of poetry.

School-aged students in UK School Years 11 to 13 or the international equivalent, no younger than 15 and no older than 18 on 31 August 2026. Entries may come from any part of the world and must be in English.
