About this opportunity
Write a poem of up to 30 lines on this year's theme, Oceans, for a prize run by the charity behind the Keats-Shelley House in Rome. The winner receives GBP 700 and two highly commended poets receive GBP 300 each; their poems are published in The Keats-Shelley Review and on the association's website. Poems can be serious or comic, traditional or experimental.
Who can apply
School-aged students in UK School Years 11 to 13 or the international equivalent, no younger than 15 and no older than 18 on 31 August 2026. Entries may come from any part of the world and must be in English.
How to apply
Enter through the Keats-Shelley website by 10am GMT on Monday 1 February 2027 (6pm Singapore time). Judging is anonymous, so leave your name off the poem; Word or PDF only. The poem must be unpublished and must not be AI-generated.
