About this opportunity
Singapore's inter-school astronomy competition, run by the NUS and NTU astronomy societies since 2002. Over several days teams sit an individual theory paper, work a collaborative team round and take part in a live night-sky observation round with telescopes, with the top teams going through to a game-show style final.
Who can apply
Students at Singaporean schools. Senior Category is for junior colleges, polytechnics and similar institutions; Junior Category is for secondary schools, and IP students may enter it if they are in a year equivalent to Sec 4 or below and 16 or under on 1 Jan of the competition year. Schools may send any number of teams per category.
How to apply
Schools enter teams when the annual call opens; the registration link and details are posted on astrochallenge.org. Enquiries to astrochallenge@gmail.com or the contact form on the site. Runs every year, but no 2026 call was ever posted on the site; in 2025 registration ran from 28 February to 10 May and the competition was held in early June.
