About this opportunity

<p>Beyond Social Services runs a long-term volunteer befriending programme for children and youths from less privileged backgrounds in Singapore. Volunteer befrienders listen to and support youths, run community activities, or share skills and hobbies, helping keep young people in school and out of trouble.</p><ul><li>Open to volunteers interested in working closely with children and youths in their community.</li><li>Basic Befriender Training is compulsory and held monthly on Tuesday evenings (7:00pm – 9:30pm) or Saturday mornings (10:00am – 12:30pm).</li><li>Commitment of at least 6 months to 1 year is expected for high-impact befriending roles; ad hoc event support is also available.</li><li>Beyond works with schools for Values-in-Action (VIA) and Service Learning Projects.</li></ul><p>Interested volunteers can register interest by writing to mail@beyond.org.sg.</p>
